True story...
It reminded me of what happened 2 nights ago when I was out with my good friend (single) and her colleagues. One colleague suggested for us to visit her good friend whom she described as a bachelor, rides a Harley, cute small eyes, wavy hair, no girlfriend except for 2 black and white puppies. I jumped at the idea and even offered to drive to this bachelor's pad. You see, I have been trying to play cupid to my single friend for the longest time and this was a perfect opportunity. He greeted us at the door and eventhough he was not a hunk, he was okay looking with a nice smile and friendly. Did I mention he was wearing a wife beater shirt? Anyway, for whatever reason he stood up, lifted up his arms and flashed his armpits for all to see. My reaction ? I stared, stared and stared some more, I could feel my jaw dropping...why? ....
His armpit has NO hair, BALD!!!!
Needless to say, I didn't even try to matchmaker him with my friend,
no armpit hair = a big NO

True story...
I co-own a restaurant with my father and, yesterday, I went into work a couple of hours earlier than usual. I was completely alone so I plugged my iPod into the stereo and blasted the Healer OST through the speakers. I'm enjoying the music, bopping my head along to the beat, singing occasionally, and doing my work all at the same time. I guess time must have flew by really quickly because the next thing I know, I'm totally into the music - singing to it with my rather tone deaf voice and dancing around the restaurant, Chae Young Shin style, when I whirled around and... there stood my family, slack-jawed and trying, but failing, not to laugh. Aish... Talk about embarrassing, but I don't regret it for one moment! lol

About Healer setting up high standards, I totally agree! My older sis who I just lured into watching kdramas (after years of following kdramas myself), just finished her first kdrama -Secret Garden. And she kept asking me for the next drama to watch.. of course, I wanted to say Healer, but I was so conflicted about suggesting her to watch Healer.. Not only 'cos it will set high standards (which it of course will!), but 'cos I felt that she had not wasted hours and hours on substandard kdramas and would never be able to fully realize how magnificently different Healer is from everything that's out there, in terms of it being so totally fresh and the fact that it's such a welcome relief from all those kdrama cliches and that I feel is one of the reasons why Healer's a once-in-a-lifetime drama for so many of us! Also, it's like these guys (the ones who discovered kdramas through Healer) have had it so easy in their lives.. never had to waste hours and hours of their lives watching crappy kdramas, seeing all those amnesia, noble idiocy plots, & mediocre effort of the ensemble casts that most kdramas have.. kinda like hitting a jackpot on your very first try! So unfair! Though I did tell her to watch Healer, I have to admit I spent a great deal of time wondering whether she was worthy of it or not!!

The woman can read Hangul for crying out loud, her boxed Korean Drama DVD collection is enough to build her a bunker to get her through doomsday! Heck, she even knows how to make those triangle kimbaps seamlessly and effortlessly, a feat that can make Ahjumma herself cower in shame...

Needless to say, she has impeccable taste in anything and everything Korean. Years of watching has turned her cold and indifferent to anything mundane. It takes an extra pungent kimchi to pique her interest- and my healer ruined life is pungent enough for her hahaha... bolstered by my hubby's night long whines about how he can't understand why I had to buy a rice cooker that speaks Hangul (I know, I know, pathetic ain't I? Its even red and white just like Ahjumma's teehee).
So when all things was said and done, I finally heard her say "Ok, ok let's see what this craziness is all about!" Squeee. "I got her into the trap!" First episode had me taking painful stolen side glances to see her reaction, it was nerve wracking, hahaha. And what do you know, by the second episode she dropped a one liner, that pretty much sealed the deal for me: "I think we'll have the same ringtone by tomorrow!" Success!!!
I am ecstatic that a Kdrama sunbae is already on her tenth episode of Healer as we speak. Ahhh the joy of live squeeing with a friend... priceless!

True story...
For a new project that I'm working on, I have to collaborate with a team that sits in a different location than ours.. so there's this guy, who's a Korean btw (he has a korean last name, so that's how I figured), who we are working with.. He works off of a different location, but comes every Mon-Wed to my office location, for discussions, meetings and what not..
Now, I first met this guy like a couple weeks back (he used to come before that too, but I was on vacation then).. We started talking, he's quite friendly.. and I think this Monday he told me about his love for Indian food & we started talking about other things we had in common, besides work.. And all this while, I kept thinking - this guy's korean, I should try some of those korean words that I've so ardently learnt, but never used on anyone, Lol, on this guy! And that thought made so excited, I had finally found a lab rat!! :)
So, yesterday, he kept coming to my desk again and again, for some discussion/clarification.. and I was on calls non-stop, so had to always pause, answer him, and then return back to my work.. So finally, when he stopped by for like nth time, I said, Waeee.. (that Seo Jung-hoo's trademark draggy wae, LOL) and OMG! You should've seen the surprise on his face, Lol! I was so embarrassed.. He didn't say anything about my 'failed attempt at korean' Lol, and I tried to answer his query as quickly as possible, & just focused intently at my computer afterwards! :)
After he went back to his desk, he PM'ed me like an hour later, and asked 'did you just speak Korean to me?' And I told him that I know a bunch of korean words due to my love for kdramas and kpop.. He just smiled.
I had meetings all day today, so wasn't at my desk all day.. When I reached my desk at like 3 PM today, I saw a note on my desk, next to my computer.. It said - "Viki.com works on the office network. Thought you might wanna know. You know, for your drama addiction." :D
Of course, by then he had left, but I was all smiles after seeing that note.. LOL! It was totally unexpected and it felt wonderful. :)
True Story...
As I was witnessing the chaos of a 5 year old pizza making birthday party, I glanced out the window and flurries were starting to fall.
Like Jung-hoo, I reached out my hand tried to touch it and my friend standing next to me said “First Snow”. We looked at her other and started giggling like the little girls at the party . Haha
Of course I put my hand down since I’m sure I looked like an idiot trying to touch flurries indoors.
I view elevators and office stairs differently now. I find myself checking out each new elevator I step in to see if Healer can get in if I needed rescuing. I’m sure my office stairs are pretty safe but I always stop to look up to see if Healer is a couple floors up protecting me as I walk downstairs humming to my favorite tune.

True Story...
My family and I went to a local Korean restaurant here. It's our go-to when we're craving galbi, but since it's still about half an hour away, we don't get a chance to go often. The last time we went was probably over half a year ago, actually. To our unpleasant surprise, their galbi was terrible tonight! My whole family was really disappointed. I was too.
But while they were all picking away at their food mid-meal, I, on the other hand, brightened up with joy. Why? Because while the restaurant had always played an American radio station before, they had decided to play Kpop tonight. And what song came on? Track 4 on our lovely Healer OST: You.
I was like, I DON'T CARE HOW BAD THE GALBI IS, I STILL LOVE THIS PLACE! LOL.
True story...
I just finished watching the last episode of Reply 1997 a while ago after putting it on-hold (because of Healer, lol) and guess what! There was this scene when a bunch of fangirls were singing "Hug" by TVXQ and my mind was automatically transported to that moment in Episode 3 when Young Shin sang the same song. I literally had to pause and laugh at the way Healer is following me everywhere! Here I was, trying my darnest to distance myself from it (even just a little bit) but it seems like there is no escape. I give up, Healer. YOU WIN.
True story...
Healer every Monday and Tuesday night. So all day on Monday I'm always excited for the night time, it's Healer time. I always check in all k drama site for raw video next day check again for subbed video.. Since I broke my laptop I need to borrow my niece laptop for that or sometimes using my mobile phone... After 4 episodes in Korea, it shows on KBSworld tv. We have kbsworld tv, I'm gonna watch again the past 4 episodes..
Every monday and tuesday night the time of Healer in Kbsworld is our dinner time, it's a huge problem cause our tv and kitchen quite distance. So ask my family to have early dinner just to fit the time for Healer. Next is my dish washing chores it's stuck for an hour because of Healer.. And in the afternoon had encore from last night episodes. Here I am watch again and my lunch time dishes are filled up again in the sink... So my Mondays and Tuesdays are very hectic for Healer.... That's my Healer moment.... So many times I been watching episodes of Healer.

A few days back, me and a few of my colleagues decided to head to the rooftop of our office building, to take pictures in snow. And one of my colleagues who's afraid of heights & who I really barely know, kept talking non-stop about his fear of heights..it was just the two of us there.. others were slightly ahead, taking pictures & playing with snow.. And I said, 'I like high places.. Where I can see people but..." and I literally had to stop myself..! All I could manage was, 'Ah, nevermind, so I like high places, basically, like rooftops and such....!' I could see him giving me a blank, almost a Bongsookie-WTF expression.. But I just couldn't keep a straight face, I kept suppressing my laughter!! And I felt awesome, I'd just quoted Seo Jung-hoo for god's sake!!
Btw, I do love rooftops, even more now~!

I opened up episode 15 of Healer before setting off to work, promising to only watch the first ten minutes (yunno, coz errm the thought of work was depressing me, I swear that was the only reason), and I ended up watching the entire frickin' episode!! Luckily, I was up an hour or so before work, but I still strolled in 10 minutes late!! I swear, Healer is gonna get me the sack one of these days!!

And though I don't mind braving the dark, I find that once I play the Healer soundtrack in my ear, I feel friggin' invincible!!! I don't walk, I STRUT my way home, intimidating all those who pass me by. Sometimes, I even feel the need to throw in a little acrobatic move, yunno, jump off the curb and back on again, LOL low tech stuff. *Warning: don't try this at home!*
